Denis Pierce brings the strength of a three-pronged approach to each case with extensive, specific training and experience in the science of video forensics, video evidence preparation/presentation and major criminal investigations.
Denis Pierce has been admitted as an expert witness in Forensic Video on numerous criminal and civil cases over the past 16 years. With over 700 hours of specific training in video and image forensics, he has processed surveillance video from over 2500 investigations around the country and given expert opinions in forensic video and image analysis in multiple homicides and other major crimes in superior and district courts as well as civil, insurance and family law cases. Mr. Pierce retired from police service in 2018 after a 36-year career. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Administration of Criminal Justice from University of Massachusetts-Lowell.
Mr. Pierce is a LEVA Certified Forensic Video Analyst with sixteen years of experience in forensic video/image analysis and fifteen years in Major Criminal Investigations. He created and led the Forensic Video Unit of the Lawrence, Massachusetts Police Department. Prior to his retirement from the Lawrence Police, Mr. Pierce commanded the Criminal Investigations Division with the rank of Detective Captain. He has conducted training for criminal investigators in the proper recovery, handling and limitations of video.
He regularly gives testimony, prepares and presents video evidence and exhibits as a court-recognized expert in forensic video and image analysis. His C.V. and a recent testimony history is available upon request.
